Flight of the Angel

The Angel’s Flight involves flying suspended in mid-air, secured to a cable, from Castelmezzano a Pietrapertosa or the other way round, and back again.

The departure point is chosen at the time of booking or when the ticket is issued, as is the return point.

The two stations are situated in two of the Italy’s most beautiful villages and are situated in the Lucanian Dolomites.

Every flight offers a bird’s-eye view of one of the most breathtaking natural landscapes in our beautiful country.

It goes without saying that this experience is certainly unique and exciting and, above all, unforgettable!

An experience you can enjoy individually or with someone else, choosing the couples’ flight (a great gift idea for your partner!).

How it works

Technically, it is a genuine flight, but unlike other activities such as skydiving or paragliding, there is no descent, but rather a crossing a valley.

Once you’ve set foot on solid ground, you can reach the village centre on a convenient shuttle bus, which will take you to the second launch point, ready to take off again, suspended between heaven and earth!

The two lines

As mentioned, there are two routes to choose from, two different lines with elevation gains of 118 and 130 metres.

One, the line of Saint Martin, starts in Pietrapertosa (starting altitude 1,020 metres) and ends in Castelmezzano (altitude 859 metres), covering a distance of 1,415 metres at a maximum speed of 110 km/h.

The second, on the other hand, starts from Castelmezzano (altitude 1,019 metres) and heads for Pietrapertosa (at 888 metres), reaching 120 km/h over a distance of 1,452 metres.
